He’s Here

After a fairly traumatic night, we’d like to welcome our new beautiful little boy.

Weighing in at around 9 lbs he missed Canada day by a couple of hours. Born at 5:00 (ish) on the 2nd July.

We’re still debating the name, but Charlie looks like it’s the front runner.

Peace.

Much requested …

Much neglected, and much requested, finally… here is a picture of the blooming mother, and Thing 1. Thing 2 is coming along nicely. Shockingly there’s only 5 weeks to go.

I’m sure you’ll agree – Nelly is looking gorgeous and we can’t wait to meet Thing 2.

Napping

I have previously been fairly averse to napping, catching 40 winks or having a doze during the day. Nelly, on the other hand has always been a big fan… perhaps it’s something to do with her mediterranean background… but she can turn a nap into a whole evenings entertainment.

It seems, that I am now beginning to see the light. With what feels like less than 10 hours sleep in the last 7 days napping has taken on a new found attraction. Having a sleep with all the family is a downright productive use of my time.

Jeez… we are tired!

We’re home… phew…

We’re all back in our own house… and boy does it feel good to be home…

From Jack Day 4

After 3 days with the breast feeding nazi’s we finally made our escape last night, so Jack spent his first night with his peeps in the meadowvale ‘hood last night.

Without the pressure of constant attention from medical staff (although very welcome initially – it began to get a little tiring) Jack (and us) got some sleep last night – and we are all the better for it.

We’ve all spent the whole day in PJ’s – Jack has managed to get through a few more than I have – down more to Dad’s incompetence, than Jack’s incontinence. Never before has one of my days passed doing so little, but having achieved SO much (change diaper, eat, burp, sleep, change diaper, eat, burp, sleep, change diaper, eat, burp, sleep…)

We do really want to say thanks to everyone that has sent well-wishes, flowers, cards, called, cooked us meals, toasted Jack or just sent us their thoughts. We really appreciate it. Keep watching for more pictures and stuff…

I suspect that soon we will be renaming the site www.jack.com – i don’t think we’re going to be anything more exciting than this for a long while ;-) .

Jack

So, as it turns out, no-one won the sweep. So that means we get to keep the baby, which is just fine with us – as we both fell in love instantly with our new little baby boy.

Jack was born today (9th january) at 6.20pm. He was a healthy 8lbs 9oz. He was troublesome from the get-go and so nelly had a c-section. Nelly is comfortable and overjoyed.

Thanks for all the well-wishes… Photos to follow…
